Graduation Ceremony

"I can't believe you don't want to go to your own son's graduation"
"It's not a graduation! He's moving from the fourth grade to the fifth grade."
"There's a ceremony!"
"It's psychotic! We keep coming up with new ways to celebrate mediocrity..."
Helen and Bob Parr
Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles

Whether we're celebrating mediocrity or not, The Boy graduated from Preschool today. We celebrated and we are so proud!

The "ceremony" included a presentation of all the things the kids learned and did this year. It really has been a wonderful experience for him.
After the program we had lunch and played games.
We all feel so blessed that The Boy had the chance to have Teacher Lisa for preschool. She has meant so much to him and has taught him so well. We hope she's ready for The Queen in 2013!

One Down

One to go.
The Boy finished physical therapy for his broken leg yesterday. Wahoo!
He chose Krispy Kreme doughnuts to celebrate.
Today, The Queen finally got her splint off and her cast on. She is so much more comfortable and (BONUS!) she can get this cast wet! Bathtub and swimming pool, here we come!

Seriously!?!

Yup, another broken bone...anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
This was the result of a fall down the stairs. Again, not a bad break, but The Boy's break last February wasn't a bad break and we're still in physical therapy for it. Wish us luck!

Happy Mother's Day

My Mother's "Day" has actually been taking place for a few days now. It started with a towel with The Boy's hand print from preschool on Thursday. Along with that came a glimpse of how he views his mom. Apparently he doesn't like much of what I do as he left that part blank, but I thought the rest was pretty cute. I continued to be spoiled on Saturday when my sisters and I took my mom out for her traditional "Day Out With the Girls." We went to Color Me Mine and spent a few hours choosing and painting our own piece of pottery (pictures of finished products to come later). It was so much fun to sit and enjoy each others company.
After we crafted ourselves out we headed to lunch at the Blue Lemon (YUM!) and walked around Temple Square soaking up the sun and admiring the gorgeous flowers. So fun!
This morning I was treated to sleeping in until 8:00! My sweet kiddos and husband surprised me with a big, "Happy Mother's Day," crayoned pictures (mostly of Transformers), and a french toast breakfast. It just doesn't get any better.

I am so blessed to be "Mommy" and wouldn't trade it for any other job in the world -- though I'd probably be a lot better at a few other jobs (I mean, hey, I can flip hamburgers with the best of them).

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mothers who inspire, motivate, and help me along. A special Happy Mother's Day to my own amazing Mom and to Linda, my wonderful husband's Mother.
